Soybean meal contains oligosaccharides for instance raffinose and stachyose that can't be digested by monogastric animals, due to deficiency of a selected endogenous alpha-galactosidase. Raffinose and stachyose can result in flatulence and diarrhoea that could improve the digesta passage charge, and reduce digestion and absorption of dietary nutrie
